Dolphin Front Flush Audio & Display Parking Sensors
Dolphin Front Flush Audio & Display Parking Sensors - Description
Flush Fit Sensors
These sensors have a large adhesive rim which means that after you have used the hole punch to create your hole, you just need to remove the red layer and adhere the sensor to the inner side of your bumper with the centre lined up in the hole. Finally the inner part of the sensor then has a screw mechanism to adjust the front of the head forwards to align it with the front of the bumper, this mechanism allows for different thickness of bumpers to give a proper flush fitting. Fixing sensors in this way mean that they are flush with your bumper giving the ultimate discrete factory fitted look.
What You Get
The Dolphin flush fit kit is a high quality 4 flush mounting sensor system that will cover the widest range of cars giving a professional finish. This front parking sensor kit comes with longer 6m cables on the sensors enabling you to wire around the engine bay and under the dashboard where the brain box can be installed securely in a whether-proof environment. Included with the 4 recess sensors is a digital display to give you countdown in centremeters as you get closes to an obstacle and a graphical bar indication of whether the left or right sensors are closest. Inbuilt to the display module is an audio buzzer which gives audible bleeps with increasing frequency as you get closer to an obstacle. The display unit has an adhesive underside to mount on the dashboard or somewhere else suitable.

This is an example of the display in action. If you had a post just on one side of the car the illuminated bars would vary and the shortest distance reading would be displayed. |

Hole Punch Included The Kit includes a 16.5mm hole punch to perforate bumper with the exact hole size for the sensor to be placed through. |
The system works by radiating ultrasonic beams throughout the area behind the vehicle. The beams are then reflected by obstructions behind the vehicle, and re-enter the sensors. The control box uses the reflected beam information to calculate the distance of the obstruction.
With the Dolphin Display Front Parking Sensors you need to power them via a small rocker switch on the dashboard which is included with the kit (or see CANBUS option below). Then you manually turn the sensors on, as and when you need to use them. Alternatively you could have them permanently powered on since there is an audio on/off switch on top of the display. When the vehicle is less than 1.5 metres from the obstruction the audible alert will emit intermittent bleeps. As the vehicle gets closer to the obstruction the frequency of the bleeps increases. At 30 centimetres from the obstruction the bleeps become a continuous solid tone.
CANBUS Interface
Optionally if you have a modern CANBUS wired car you may use a CANBUS interface that will take a speed reading for the cars engine management system and automatically bring the sensors on whenever your speed is below approximately 6mph. This would give you a very professional finish, cost of the CANBUS interface is £49.99 and comes with instructions. Please check for your Vehicle Compatibility.

Maintenance
No routine maintenance or adjustment is required. Dirt, frost or snow accumulated on the sensors may cause the system to activate incorrectly. The sensors can be washed carefully with warm soapy water
